UniNOx Sensor

The VDO / NGK UniNOx-Sensor is a stand-alone, multifunctional sensor, which measures both the NOx-concentration and the air/fuel-ratio lambda (λ) in the exhaust gas. In order to comply with the forthcoming emission legislation, such as Euro IV, V, US2007, the sensor helps to control different kinds of exhaust gas after treatment both at gasoline and diesel engines, e.g.:

  • Regeneration of NOx storage catalyst at lean burn gasoline and diesel engines
  • On-board-diagnosis and closed-loop control of Selective-Catalytic-Reduction (SCR) applications at Light and Heavy Duty Trucks

Active Pressure Sensor

The pressure sensor converts on the basis of the piezoresistive effect principle a system pressure in a pressure-proportional electrical output signal 0V - 5V.
The sensor has a high resistance to aggressive media, e.g. to oil, brake fluid, diesel, gasoline, coolant, and more and is particularly suitable for use in automotive, hydraulic applications and more.
The sensor installation is achieved through screw fitting and electrical connection to the vehicle is carried by cable and connector.

Passive Pressure Sensor

Pressure measurement of media oil and air.
The VDO pressure sensor is based on electromechanical principle.
The position of the wiper on a resistance wire coil directly depends on
the applied pressure and leads to a corresponding electrical output signal 10 Ohm - 184 Ohm.      

Some senders are earthed. Other senders are not earthed, e.g. earth is supplied by a separate connection. Pressure senders can be fitted with an additional warning contact in order to indicate when the pressure limit has been reached, as well as carrying out continuous measurement.

The pressure sensor types in the product range include:

  • Without Warning Contact, Common Ground
  • With Warning Contact, Common Ground
  • Without Warning Contact, Insulated Return
  • With Warning Contact, Insulated Return

For monitoring the pressure of media oil and air by making contact when a pre-defined limiting value is exceeded or not reached.
Some switches are earthed. Other switches are not earthed, i.e. earth is supplied by a separate Connection.

Temperature Sensors and Switches

Oil, water, air – A lot of temperature sensors with NTC – characteristics, different thread sizes, electrical connectors, metal or plastic bodies for a wide range of application are available. The temperature sensor is available in many variants, including with a warning contact, for measuring oil, water and air temperatures.

Mass Airflow Sensor

Measurement of Engine Intake Mass AirflowThe Mass Air-Flow sensor (MAF with integrated Design) is used to measure the mass flow of fresh air entering the engine. With gasoline engines, this measurement is used to in combination with other sensor measurements to determine the proper amount of fuel to be delivered to the engine. In the case of a diesel engine, the MAF sensor is used to regulate the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) rate.
